“raining down with infestations of arrows”

It was difficult to make any new discoveries today because it was raining down with an infestation of arrows. All day and all night arrows from the heavens rained down on us. There were arrows as far as a good eye could see. And speaking of eye, Clark unfortunately though mistakenly lost one of his two good eyes today in an unfortunate accident. Clark fell while running while using the telescope. The fall forced the eye piece from the telescope to stick into Clarks eye cavity. Although for a moment afterwards, he was able to see with the monocle eye piece, until the swelling caused it to close shut. Now the telescope is broken.
